Why buy local?

There’s lots to love about Wiltshire. Our county has a rich agricultural history, and our makers continue to push the boundaries when it comes to creating fresh, innovative food and drink.

The Makers' County

The Wiltshire Marque has been created to highlight products and produce that celebrates Wiltshire’s bounty of flavour – including vegetable growers and organic farms, traditional breweries and luxury chocolate makers, and venues that champion homegrown Wiltshire produce.

All of this is right here in our region, so we’re here to spread the word to locals, tourists and anyone else who appreciates food and drink with great provenance.

Our makers in turn use Wiltshire products wherever possible, reducing food miles and supporting the local economy on their side. Using local produce means that they can give you the freshest, tastiest dishes available – and that’s good for everyone.

Who are our makers?

The Wiltshire Marque is home to makers from four main categories, all of which champion all things homegrown.

Growers

Growers are what you might expect – farmers, fisheries, fruit and vegetable growers, and apiaries producing honey.

Processors

Processors are those who take raw ingredients and turn it into something special. Think brewers, bakers, and jam makers.

Hospitality

This category boasts all kinds of venues and caterers, committed to making things with Wiltshire ingredients. Here, you’ll find anything from cafés, coffee shops and street food vendors to pubs, restaurants and event caterers.

Provisions retailer
